UK FIRES

UK FIRES is a research program at Cambridge University that focuses on uncovering the lowest risk path to zero emissions prosperity in the UK by 2050. The program’s goal is to reveal and stimulate industrial growth in the UK that is compatible with a rapid transition to zero emissions. The program is focused on designing new material processing techniques, new decision-making tools and new approaches to design, while revealing opportunities for entrepreneurship, finance and policy to accelerate the move to zero emissions. UK FIRES also explores new communication channels to share these ideas with many publics.
One of the notable achievements of UK FIRES is the invention of Cambridge Electric Cement, the world’s first zero-emissions cement. The cement is made in a virtuous recycling loop, eliminating the emissions of cement production and saving raw materials. This new process has the potential to secure the supply of the basic materials of construction to support the infrastructure of a zero-emissions world.
By partnering with UK FIRES, we are funding invaluable PHD programmes and other research at Cambridge University.

Why the Planet Protection Project

The Planet Protection Project is dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and reversing the effects of climate change. We plant trees to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improving biodiversity.
We make it simple for individuals and companies to donate towards projects and initiatives that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to support, allowing them to make a tangible impact in the fight against climate change.
