Why we exist

The Planet Protection Project was founded in response to the alarming increase in greenhouse gas emissions, despite efforts by governments around the world to reduce them.
The graph to the right shows the increase in greenhouse gas emissions over the last 30 years.
These emissions, including CO2 and methane, are trapping more heat from the sun and leading to rising temperatures around the world, with particularly devastating effects in vital locations such as the poles.
The graph to the right shows the increase in temperature that has occurred over the last 30+ years.
The resulting rise in temperatures is causing the melting of ice that has been frozen for centuries, leading to rising sea levels and threatening coastal communities.
It is also affecting ocean currents and increasing the likelihood of extreme weather conditions, with the potential to severely impact sea life and food sources around the world.
The graph to the right shows the average increase in sea levels over the last 30 years.
Human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and intensive farming are also significantly contributing to the loss of biodiversity around the world. In 2020, animal species populations on average declined by 68%. The disruption of natural systems puts the planet at further risk of breakdown for humans. For example, the dramatic reduction in bee populations is already limiting the supply of some food crops in the USA.
We believe that the Earth’s tipping point for greenhouse gas atmospheric content and global temperature is approaching, beyond which crises such as adverse weather events, human population displacement, crop decline, and animal population collapse could result in changes that are beyond repair and could ultimately have significant impacts on the human species.
We are committed to taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance biodiversity before it’s too late. Our objective is to provide individuals and companies with the opportunity to help in the fight against climate change by planting trees. Join us in our mission to protect the planet before it’s too late. Support us by Planting Trees today.
Taking action on climate change isn’t just good for the planet, it’s good for the economy as well. By investing in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable transportation, we can create new jobs, reduce energy costs, and protect public health. According to a report by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the renewable energy sector alone could provide more than 42 million jobs globally by 2050.
